The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is celebrating its 50th birthday this year… and we’re invited!

Over 50 events have been scheduled by the Local Council of the Borough,  to happen in nine local parks and green spaces borough. There will be art, music, culture, country fairs, sport, entertainment, cider- and, most importantly, there will be a merry team of Community Health Ambassadors; accompanied by the Lil’ Orange Piaggio.

The Barking and Dagenham Council has launched the #makeachange campaign to encourage people in Barking and Dagenham to take steps – however small or large – towards a healthier lifestyle. Together,  we’ll be cheering on people who decide to make a change, and celebrating their successes. Read all about it here.

Our dedicated, well-trained health promoters will be joining some of the events the Barking and Dagenham Council has organised; local residents and event participants will be able to check their BMI with us, receive personalised health advice and find out more about how to improve their health and well-being through small lifestyle changes.

So, we invite you pledge to make a healthy change to your life ( such as: start having breakfast; give up fizzy cola; take up running- you get the gist) and share it with us. We may even be having some surprise for you if you do ;).
